Tips and Tricks on Teething
Having a fussy, teething tot is no fun! Here are a few tips and tricks on how to calm a teething baby:
- MAKE POPSICLES!!! Whether you're breastfeeding, formula feeding, or using plain old milk, any of it will work! Freeze some of it into a popsicle mold and add a baby-safe handle. In 2-3 hours, you have yourself a mommy-made treasure! For those babies that can chew, try adding some fruit.
- GNAW IT OUT. This does not mean to go to the store and buy a teething toy (but you can if you want to). This means, let them gnaw it out with some fresh fruit. Give him/her a ripe peach or a sweet apple. Pears do the trick too!
- Looking for a two-for-one special, here it is! Chamomile is an anti-inflammatory that helps alleviate pain, and it is a natural relaxant. Do you know what that means??? It helps with teething, and puts them to sleep too!!! Simple make it into a tea, freeze it into popsicles, and watch it work wonders!
- PATIENCE IS KEY. Remember, your little one is going through a lot of pain. Understand what they are going through and just be there for them. Most of the time, all they want is to be held and to know you're there for them every step of the way. Love every moment of them!
